A good friend of ours is starting a cupcake business and invited us to a tasting last weekend, I’m hoping it’s the first of many because her cupcakes are amazing. I fully intended to sample one of each but actually only managed three, I was very disappointed with myself!
Our Norwich office is right next to a wonderful little museum, the John Jarrold Printing Museum but shamefully yesterday was the first time we’ve visited it. The people who run it are retired printers and they are wonderfully enthusiastic, they gave us a very thorough guided tour and history of the exhibits, many of which they had worked on during their careers. Now we know what we’re missing we’ll be going back with decent cameras soon, I could have spent hours photographing things. And we won’t be bitching about how slow our macs are anymore!
This is the Heidelburg Automatic Platen, the first press to have an automatic paper feed. It was quite hypnotic to watch.
